#1022: You Shoulda Locked Him in the Cellar!

May 29, 2010
This week on Car Talk, find out if Tom and Ray helped Heidi from Michigan persuade her tennis-pro husband not to make a timing belt replacement his maiden voyage of the SS Auto Repair. Meanwhile, in Minnesota, Linda's worried about the brakes on her Honda, after the "brilliant young man who got fired after two weeks" at the Kwikie Lube put the wrong fluid in. Also, a Ford Escort gets revenge on an owner who forced it to lug around a hang glider, mud-bogging takes its toll on a pick-up, and what's the perfect car for a family en route from Vermont to Belize? All this, plus some brutally painful writing, and lots more, on this week's encore edition of Car Talk.

2010's Best....So Far

Your show, on May 29th was..special. I laugh out loud many times, but I was head for Wis. to grocery shop and I was driving(!) and laughing so hard, I was crying!! The initial phase wher you read the various quotes was beyond words, particularly the first and the last. And to hear, once again, the young lady married to the tennis player - well I want to meet her! She has one hell of a personality. I would, however, like to know WHAT she ses in him, having described him as she did! That said, ther IS hope for me in our social structure.....after all.
Favorite Moment:
The quotes at the beginning of the show. (ONE smallllllll complaint....PLEASE physically POST those quotes or SEND me a copy...PDQ because I sure want to TYPE UP the first one and DISPLAY it in someone's cubicle and see if the meaning is understood!

great, wacko as always, but funny

This is as always, a wackadoodle show, but it's funny. I can see why they've been around awhile. Continued best wishes to Tom and Ray, or Click and Clack; which is which, I don't know. Either way they're good people.
