Another Winter Puzzler

Nov 08, 2022

Okay, this puzzler has to do with winter, again. Here we go.

A winter day. A fellow takes his wife shopping at the convenience store. And she says, "I'll be right out honey, I just have to pick up a few things."

So, what does he do when she gets out of the car and goes into the store? He lights a cigar and turns on the radio to wait for her.

His wife comes out of the store with a bag full of things that she's gotten in this little convenience store and she gets in the car. He tries to pull away and he realizes he's stuck on the ice. He puts the car in drive and his wheels are just spinning like crazy, not going anywhere. His wife says, "Wait a minute. I have something in this bag here that I believe will get you out of this fix."

He says, "You do? What do you have? Let me see."

She says, "I have a bottle of extra virgin olive oil."

He says, "What else do you have?"

She says, "I have Preparation H. Chunky peanut butter, a bottle of chlorine bleach, a head of lettuce, a pound of frozen Kielbasa, and a spray can of Cheez Whiz."

So, which one of these items is most likely to get them off the ice?

Good luck, my friends.

Answer:

Answer time for another winter puzzler. Due to the weather we've been having recently.

Fellow takes his wife to the store. She gets out of the car and he lights a cigar and puts his seat back to wait. She goes in to pick up a couple of things.

When she comes back, the car is stuck on the ice. The wheels are spinning. He's stuck. He's stuck in a patch of ice. This car isn't going anyplace. His wife says, "Wait a minute. I think I have something in this bag that will help us." So she starts pulling things out of the bag. She has olive oil, Preparation H, chunky peanut butter, chlorine bleach, a head of lettuce, a pound of frozen Kielbasa, and a spray can of Cheez Whiz.

And the question was, which one of these items is most likely to help get them off the ice?

The most likely thing to help them is chlorine bleach. And here is why. If you pour chlorine bleach on the rubber of the tire, it will soften the rubber just enough to make it more sticky. And this will create a greater amount of coefficient of friction between the ice and the rubber. And he'll be able to drive the car off the ice.

But don't try this at home! it will get you off the ice, but it will also ruin your tires... So, again, do not try this one at home!
