Lee Myles is a garage that specializes in transmissions. My first impression was that they were very friendly. They listened to the problems I was having with my car and took it for a drive. They also dropped me off at the nearest BART station so I could get to work. They called promptly with the diagnosis. Although it was bad news and there was nothing they could do outside of rebuilding the engine, they did not charge me a penny for looking at the transmission. It was a welcome change from the nearby Ford dealership, where I usually get my car serviced. Ford wanted to charge me over $100 just to pop the hood. I cannot recommend Lee Myles strongly enough. They are a rare jem in the minefield of auto mechanics. As honest as dirt.

I went to Lee Myles in Oakland because I was convinced there was something wrong with my transmission. It had recently had problems and the car was intermittently lurching and the engine light was flashing. I looked them up on this web site and thought I'd give them a shot. They did indeed do the free transmission testing, including the engine diagnostic. They found there was nothing currently wrong with my transmission and recommended and engine repair shop over the phone. But when I came to pick up the car, they stopped me, asked me a few more questions, and told me they had found a loose cable connected to the battery. They showed it to me, tightened it for me, and recommended I not do anything else unless the car repeats it's problem. All their help was absolutely free and they did not try to lie to me, even though some might think me an easy target. They got back to me about everything within a couple hours, and discussed how things work with me in detail. All in all, it was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone who thinks they are having transmission trouble.

I took an 8-y-o Buick LeSabre with about 80K on the odometer in for the transmission service. Shop was very clean and organized, the staff was patient and they spent time with customers describing the work to be completed. They seem very honest, knowledgeable, and skilled. I will return to Lee Myles' for future work.

They were very responsive to an unexpected probelm, turning around a major problem with a recently rebuilt transmission in just 2 days, all under warrenty. Paul and Reese are the extremely courteous front desk guys. They were a pleasure to deal with AND their estimates were the lowest around.

Team Lee Myles has worked on three cars of mine: 01 Pontiac Montana w/35K, 96 Buick LeSabre w/95K, and 90 Oldsmobile 98 w/141K. They are very honest, friendly, and thorough. They take the time to explain what issues, if any, your car is facing. I highly recommend them for your transmission needs.

Lee Myles West was recommended by a highly recommended non-transmission shop. I was pleased to see this Lee Myles had a number of fine recommendations in the Mechanics Files. My experience with them was so good, I had to add it to the record. The transmission repair they did went bad 50 miles later while we drove on the highway, 11 miles from the repair shop. Our AAA policy wouldn't cover the tow over 5 miles, so I contacted Lee Myles and they took care of getting the car towed to them. Turned out the new part they used had a bearing failure. They covered the full cost of towing and fixing the repair. Our car has not run so well in years. Did they even do some other fine tuning for our trouble?!

Paul and Reece have been the saviors of our fleet for the last decade! With 4 older vehicles to keep running, we have always found them to be honest, fair, and live up to their commitments. They are free with their advice, know their stuff, and take pride in their work. Often they have suggested "try this lower-cost solution" first, which I appreciate. Local owners, invested in our community, always a busy shop - you know they are doing the right things for customers. Truly the best mechanics I have had the pleasure to work with in my life, and there have been a few!
