This car, we call the Silver Streak, came to Michigan from Washington DC when my mother died in 1999. It moved to Northern Michigan to be a house car for a second home. It has served us faithfully since 1999, sitting all alone for many months at a time, and always starting for us whenever we would arrive. It has seen four grandchildren grow up, and all learned to drive with this civic on the dirt back roads during their summers here.

It has only 72,000 miles on it after running for us for 23 years! It is still beautiful inside and out and it is hard to say goodbye. I hope the Silver Streak finds a good home for it's next chapter! I couldn't think of a better charity, as Michigan Radio is a favorite pre-set on the radio.

Judith donated a 1996 Honda Civic to Michigan Public Radio through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program.

Thank you, Judith!
