I have had my 2008 Toyota Corolla since 2012. My former spouse and I had just divorced and I was driving his pickup truck as a homecare physical therapist every day. I would get to the end of a long days work with a sore back and a bank account less full because of the gas. The truck would guzzle and the bumps that would not be taken gracefully. My two kids and I went out on a Saturday on a mission to find a new used car. We found this gem! It had just under 40,000 miles on it and was perfect for my long days of driving and bringing my kids where they needed to go. It now has 283,213 miles on it and has not only driven me all around New Hampshire, but now my new spouse and two new children. It has finally come time to retire my dear car that I am so very grateful for!
I listen to NHPR every day when I take my now nearly 15 year old son to school. I listened every day through the years I drove this little car. I have never been able to make a significant donation to NHPR despite my many days of listening. So when I had the opportunity to finally give back I was so delighted to donate my beloved car! Thank you for all of the stories, the sad and happy news, and keeping me well informed throughout these past 10 years in my Corolla! I now pass it on to you so that hopefully there is another mom somewhere that can keep enjoying the stories and receiving the very important news that I have through these years!!
Thank you to you all and sincerely from a devoted listener,
Michelle
