RAY: This is one of those "What's the next number in the series?" puzzlers.
Get a pencil and paper and write this series of numbers down. 335 443 554_. So there are nine numbers, 335443554 _, followed by a blank. What's the blank, and why? And that's the hint!
Answer:
RAY: Three. If you spell out the numbers 1, 2, 3, etc., the number one has three letters, the number two has three letters, the number three has four letters, etc. So the tenth term would be number ten, which has three letters.
