Puzzler time. We got a bunch of puzzlers sent to us, some time ago. There are some crummy ones. But this is one of the less crummy ones here. This is a semi-crummy one sent from a listener in Cedar Rapids.
The way you can tell a good puzzler, the merit of a puzzler is measured in how long it takes Dougie to get it. This one took him about 4 hours, to it is a pretty good puzzler.
Here goes.
A mountain climber is climbing mountains. That is what they do, they climb things. Anyway, he is climbing a mountain where he discovers a cave. He decides to explore the cave. He goes in and looks around and he discovers two bodies frozen in the ice.
He looks at them closely and suddenly he rushes out of the cave and runs back down the mountain. He gets to the bottom and he starts shouting to everyone that he has found Adam and Eve.
How did he know that they were Adam and Eve? That is the puzzler question.
Good question here. Good luck!
Okay, here it is!
A mountain climber is climbing mountains when he discovers a cave. As mountain climbers do... He decides to explore the cave and spelunk for a while. He goes in, looks around, and discovers, to his amazement, two bodies frozen in ice. Obviously, they've been there for a considerable amount of time. Millennia, perhaps. Thousands of years.
He looks at them closely and suddenly rushes out of the cave, yelling, "Eureka!" He runs down the mountain. He gets to the bottom and he starts shouting to everyone that he has found the bodies of Adam and Eve.
Now we tested this puzzle as we do with most of our puzzles on Doug Berman. And he suggested that they had stick-on name tags that said, "Hi, my name is Adam." Like they had gone to a seminar and they had the little "Hello" tags. We thought that was a good answer.
So, it isn't named tags. It isn't something they had. It is, in fact, something they didn't have.
And the answer is, that they did not have navels. Neither of them had a belly button. If you don't have a navel, you must be Adam or Eve!
Good one, I thought.
