Time for the new puzzler already. This one is very straightforward. Very concise puzzler, this one.
Quick too. Here we go. This one is really hard.
I'm going to give a series of names, a series of words, okay?
And I want you to tell me what it is. Meaning, you can tell me what it is by telling me what the other terms are, either before or after the series of names. So in other words, I'm going to give you a piece of the series, a sub-set of words, and your task will be to give me the rest of the series and tell me what the series is.
And here they are.
- Juliet.
- Kilo.
- Lima.
- Mike.
- November.
And that is it. That is all I can give you. Pretty rough one huh?
Good luck.
Okay, time for the answer to this puzzler. This puzzler about a series of words.
I gave you a series of names or words, and your job was to tell me the rest of the series. To refresh, the series was:
- Juliet.
- Kilo.
- Lima.
- Mike.
- November.
So, an astute listener would have recognized immediately that the first letter of each of these words is in alphabetical order. ...J, K, L, M, N... And if you noticed that, you might suspect that the next term starts with an 'O' right? And you would be right. Because the very next word in the series is Oscar.
And do you all know why?
Because these are the words that are used to abbreviate the various letters of the alphabet in the United States Military. And if you're military, or if you did a little bit of research, you would have this answer.
Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Foxtrot, Echo, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu.
Those are right from the dictionary of soldier talk, as they say.
