It’s that simple!
What paperwork needs to be filled out to complete my vehicle donation?
In order to complete the car donation process, you’ll need to transfer your title. You can sign your Indiana title by following these steps:
- PRINTING and SIGNING your name in the box marked “SELLER INFORMATION” on the back of the title.
- Make sure your name is printed and signed EXACTLY as it appears printed at the top of the title.
If your vehicle is more than 35 years old, Indiana does not issue a title. Visit the Indiana state website for more information on title requirements.
What should I expect on the day my vehicle is scheduled to be picked up?
On the day your car is scheduled to be picked up, you should give the driver the completed title along with the keys to the vehicle. After your car is sold, your vehicle donation receipt will be sent to you via email.
Can I donate a car in Indiana if my vehicle doesn’t pass an emissions inspection?
Yes! In Lake and Porter counties, cars manufactured later than 1976 are required to have emissions tested every two years, and failure often causes running cars to be taken off the road for good. Even if you have a car that won’t run, a vehicle donation is a great way to move that car along and support your favorite Indiana public radio station.
