What do I need to complete my Virginia car donation?

In order to complete your Virginia car donation, you’ll have to transfer your vehicle title. On the day your vehicle is picked up, you’ll need to:

  • Transfer the title by PRINTING and SIGNING your name on the front of the title where it is marked "SIGNATURE(S) OF SELLER(S)."
  • Make sure you print and sign your name exactly as it appears printed on the front of the title.
  • If you can’t find your vehicle title, you can obtain a duplicate from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. You can download the form on the Virginia DMV website.

On the day of your scheduled vehicle pickup, you’ll need to give the tow driver the completed title along with the car keys. After your vehicle is sold, you'll receive a receipt for tax purposes.
