How do I donate a car in Vermont?

  2. Provide information about your car and yourself.

Note: If your vehicle is missing its title, you can obtain a duplicate from the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles. You can download the form at the Vermont DMV website.

What do you need to complete a car donation in Vermont?

In order to complete your Vermont car donation, you must transfer your vehicle title. On the day that your vehicle is scheduled to be picked up, you must:

  • Transfer the title by Printing and Signing your name on the title where it is marked “Signature(s) of Sellers).

  • Print and sign your name exactly as it appears printed on the front of the title.

    If you do not have a title, you'll need to obtain a duplicate from the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles.

What should I expect on the day of pickup?

The day of your scheduled vehicle pickup, you’ll need to provide the driver with the completed title, along with the keys. After the vehicle sells, you'll receive a vehicle donation receipt for tax purposes.
